Gymkhana Yesterday

It was the NVIHA Gymkhana yesterday, Painter and I went along with Heather and Dakota, I was just going to take Painter along for the ride, and jump on the trails, but then I decided to do Time Onlys in Barrels and Poles, but the Barrels and Poles turned in to those, plus Speed and Skill Barrels, and Stakes but I scratched. Heather and Dakota did absolutley AMAZING! They were just awesome for their first show, I think it was one of their best shows. Painter and I also did well for not doing it for over a year, we added 3 seconds on to our barrel time *blush* but he's old and out of shape, and I'm just..well I'm just out of shape. Poles, I was soo excited for, but Painter decided to bolt after the third pole...so we trotted the rest of the pattern.
The show started at 10am, we had 1 and a half events over with by 12:30am! Thats insane! First there were timer problems, then it decided to just absolutley pooour, the heavens opened and stayed open for about an hour, so that put us behind, not to mention there where about 30 people there, 10 of which were peewee's, but other then all that, it was a very good day. I will post some pictures later!

Well alots been up! Barn dance was frigggggin wicked! Totally fun, I don't remember some of it, but it was a blast. Riding wise, nothing much going on, I got a new english saddle, I jumped Painter a few times in it, fantastic boy, I love him, he's got such a huge heart. Here are a few pictures

My man all decked out!

I have a jumping one, but its super blurry, its the only one we got

I really really love this picture, even though its just half of us =)

See, blurry jumping one

People are shocked at how good of an english pony my western guy is!

Another half shot...hmmm I wonder what would happen if I was to combine the two, hmmmm

Riding off into the uh....tree?

I also got a job, picking veggies at a farm, I don't like it much. I just talked to a friend of mine, and her and her beau are going to Alberta and he has some horses in training that I may be able to take over for him, if he deams me worthy, I sure hope so, I know I'm not the best rider but I do alright, I'm oookay haha, so hopefully that will turn out aaaaand I will be able to quite picking carrots!

Training Mito

I had the oppurtunity last night to work with a really nice mare last night. The story behind this girl was that her owners were basically greenies, who purchased her (an unbroke mare, and a PMU yearling colt) and attempted to train her. Now they didn't to bad of a job, but she doesn't round pen at all, and she is fairly timmid, her training at the walk is good, she has a very nice natural collection, and is one of the softest horses I have rode in a while. I really like this mare, and she was a nice looking mare. Unfortunatly the owners don't care much about her, and the lady is going through a divorce so she just wants to sell the mare and can't afford to pay for training or bored, I may work with her for free, seeing as I'm not working right now and she's at my stables, but I won't be getting paid for it. Here's some pictures

First Blog Entry

Well this is my first entry of the blog. This blog was created to write down my adventures in the equine industry, I am almost 19 years old, and just graduated from the Horse Training Programe at Fairview College, so I am just starting out in the buisness. I will write about my ups and downs , my trials and trivials in the training world. We'll see how it goes!!
